How an Electronic Line System Can Help Tennis

An electronic line judge (ELJ) is a device which is used in tennis for automatically detecting where a tennis ball has landed. When a tennis player hits the ball, they will hit it with the racket and then it will travel down the racetrack until it lands on an electronic system which is then recorded. This record will then be sent back to a monitor in the main tennis court.

Tennis players are trained to hit the ball with their rackets so that it goes down the track as close to the net as possible and the electronic line system has been designed to detect when the ball has come to rest. A player may have to wait several seconds before the system can detect that the ball has fallen on an electronic mark so this makes it vital for the system to work correctly.

Electronic line judges are normally fitted to the court in such a way that they are hidden from view. If they were not then it would be very difficult for the tennis player to judge when they have actually hit the ball. Most electronic systems are fitted with a mechanism called a magnetic sensor, which when stimulated by a magnet can detect if the ball has landed.

Another type of electronic line judge, known as the magnetic ball retriever, works in a similar way. It is fitted onto the table and is programmed to go off after a specific period of time. It is programmed to retrieve the ball if it has landed. However, if the ball does not land then it will return to the place where it was fitted.

The computer used to program the ball retriever is programmed to search for the ball if it is not retrieved within the time given. This is essential in that it allows the player to concentrate on hitting the ball properly. The system should be programmed to work accurately.

A tennis player can expect a good deal from their electronic line judge and many people who use them will find that they do much better at tennis than when using one. They are much more reliable than any other type of system and because they are so accurate, they can also be used to check whether players are having an effect on other players' serve.

Another benefit of using an electronic line system at tennis is that it can be programmed to make changes to the tennis courts as well. It is possible to program it to make it run faster or slower and even increase or decrease the number of bounces that a ball makes during play. This is particularly useful in certain situations. For example, if a tennis court is running fast the system can detect this and then adjust the bounce rate of the court in order to prevent balls from going over the net.

Of course a good electronic system can do more than just record the performance of a tennis player's game. As long as it is programmed correctly, it can also be used to check the tennis courts for damage caused by other players, and it can also detect if there are any obstructions which could affect the flow of play.
